Internal Communications Director

The Internal Communications Director is their champion keeping them aware, involved and committed to our transformation. The position reports into the Vice President, APAC Communications and is based in Singapore.
The Internal Communications Director is the 'Keeper of Culture' within the company. They are the company's strongest advocate and most passionate cheerleader. Their role covers the following areas:
•Establishing and communicating the company's vision, identity and values. Employees should be crystal clear about who we are and what we stand for as a company. As Mastercard evolves into a technology company, employees should understand our future direction and their role in it. They should also be conscious of our social mission and commitment to being an ethical company in the community.
•Driving employee commitment and participation. Mastercard is keen to develop a highly motivated workforce where all individuals participate and feel a sense of fulfilment in our mission. This requires employees to understand the opportunities available to them, know that their growth is supported and that Mastercard remains a fun and energetic place to work. They should take pride in recommending their employer as a great place to work.
•Connecting senior management with the organization. Making the Co-Regional Presidents and Asia Pacific Leadership Team accessible to the organization through get-togethers and frequent communication bulletins. Employees should know their leadership's thought process, views on business and societal issues impacting them and develop a personal connection with them.
•Turning employees into brand advocates. Our strongest advocates are our employees. To activate them, we need them to know what's happening around the company in Asia, get them familiar with our products and solutions and how they impact our customers and consumers, and be clear on our social mission. We then need to arm them with the training and tools needed to advocate on behalf of the company on social media.
•Assisting in recruitment, particularly for the management trainee program. Mastercard wants to attract the best minds into the company. To do this we need to, communicate our story to prospective hires, show them how we share their values and motivate them to see Mastercard as a great place to work.
All About You
The Internal Communications Director is someone who embodies the following characteristics:
•A strategic thinker. Will work with senior management and HR to convert management imperatives into internal narratives and employee engagement programs.
•A creative executor. Have the ability to find interesting ways to foster participation in company programs and initiatives in partnership with our comms agency.
•Strong communicator and writer. Be able to express complexity in an easy to understand, relatable and motivating manner. Turn our company story into an interesting narrative and our product profiles into easy to communicate messaging.
•Highly energetic and partnership oriented. This role will have a lot of internal visibility particularly with, senior management, HR, marketing and internal product and account management teams. Being a strong collaborator and people person is a prerequisite.
•Capable program manager. Have the ability to manage multiple programs from conceptualization to execution in an ongoing manner.
Success in the role will be determined by:
•Improvement in scores on the Employee Satisfaction Survey fielded every 18 months.
•Retention of high potential employees.
•Qualitative improvement in the standard of new hires.
