What you will be doing:
Supporting the database infrastructure for Mastercard's most critical applications.
Owning tasks and technical decisions for numerous small/medium scale projects.
Partnering with our Sr DBAs and DBA consultants as part of major initiatives to evolve our infrastructure.
Working in an agile culture, driven from the bottom up.
Work as part of a global On Call rotation.
Bachelor's Degree in Information systems or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and Experience:
Working knowledge of database architecture and Internals (Oracle or Postgres).
Working level of Database Administration experience on Linux environments. (Oracle 11g/12c or Postgres 9+)
Working knowledge of RDBMS installation, patching and upgrades. (Oracle or Postgres)
Implements backups/restores. (RMAN, BART, etc)
Working knowledge of database procedural languages and SQL.
Good trouble shooting skills.
Knowledge of alternative database platforms or NoSQL database technologies.
Some experience with replication technologies such as Data Guard or GoldenGate (optional).
Experience using OEM or PEM for monitoring (optional).
OCA or equivalent (optional).
Working knowledge of scripting languages, e.g. Bash,KSH, perl etc.
Consistently searches for improved methods to provide customer service.
Ambitious, adaptable, agile and creative characteristics
Uses strong writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask.
Displays excellent collaborative skills to facilitate cross-functional teams.
