Sales: Yield Analyst

The Details

Mashable is adding another key position to its growing Yield team. We are now seeking a smart, analytic, detail oriented, self-motivated and resourceful individual to join our team as a Yield Analyst. The Yield Analyst will work closely with the Revenue Operations and Sales Team. The Day to Day

  • Help to manage, approve, and maintain advertiser floors and advertiser channel management strategy
  • Evaluate and analyze yield partnerships to help guide revenue strategy
  • Assist when needed in all aspects of invoicing and billing
  • Use marketplace insight and feedback from demand partners identify areas for audience development, product needs and revenue growth
  • Where applicable, represent the Revenue Partnership team in meetings or conferences
  • Manage inventory of entire suite of Mashable digital products
  • Work with Fivia and DFP and customize reports to manage all inventories
  • Sign off on all plans submitted for inventory approvals
  • Generate weekly reports for executive management and Sales to help inform of inventory trends and potential issues
  • Structure data in order to forecast and analyze inventory for a growing network of premium channels
  • Work to optimize usage of Fivia and DFP query tools
  • Collaborate with Sales on sold out/undersold areas
  • Provide best in class customer service for revenue opportunities and advertising sales

Must Haves

  • Advanced Excel knowledge including pivot tables and VLookup
  • Thorough knowledge of online ad serving (DFP, DSM), programmatic, audience vendors (Krux preferred) and ad sales pacing reporting
  • Experience supporting sales teams (upfront planning, understanding of marketplace)
  • Passion for new media and technological possibilities with an eager curiosity; demonstrated ability to learn quickly
  • Understanding of CPM, CPC and CPA models
  • Must be highly organized with excellent follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate the big picture and drill down to supporting details
  • Excellent and multi-tasking and close attention to detail a must
  • Strong judgment; able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 1-3 years of work experience in an interactive media environment
  • A strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • An ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is vital
  • Solid understanding of digital advertising metrics and current industry trends is required.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with campaign optimization, media analytics or programmatic advertising
  • Past experience with Fivia and/or other online media planning software
  • Past experience with Dart For Publishers (DFP) is a plus
