Senior Platform Engineer

*** This is a hybrid role that can be based in our Chicago, IL, Newark ,NJ, or Franklin, TN offices.

The Data Platform team manages the global cloud environment that serves data and analytics use cases across all the Mars businesses. Through the piloting and introduction of new technologies and platforms, we seek to enable our businesses to drive meaningful digital transformations.

The Senior Platform Engineer role will be responsible for the architecture and development of a portfolio of global tools and integrated services that can scale to meet the multi-dimensional needs of our customers. We are looking for technologists who are passionate about software development, cloud-native practices, and automation.

What are we looking for?

  • University degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud engineering and/or software development
  • Experience building and deploying services in the cloud, ideally Azure
  • Knowledge of multiple coding languages or frameworks
  • Comfortable implementing both open-source frameworks and enterprise applications
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable with presenting findings to others, including leadership.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead the technical stream for a diverse portfolio of projects, from microservices architectures to global platform deployments
  • Design and develop tools that enable our customers to build out more efficient, scalable, and advanced data and analytics solutions
  • Interface with multiple stakeholders to draft and consolidate technical product requirements
  • Become a subject matter expert in new technologies introduced to the platform
