Our -Commerce Platform Architect is a key individual on NextGen composable platform team working closely with Product, Delivery, Solution Architects and EA. In this role, you will be helping design transformational technical solutions that meet business requirements, in accordance with company and industry best practices. You will bring your previous knowledge from implementing microservices based commerce platforms and pave the way for how future enhancements that are keeping platform and proposition in mind.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in architecting and design on enterprise level together with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in software architecture or development
  • Demonstrable experience in the fields of Enterprise Commerce Applications, Content Management, Composable Architectures, Integrations and Microservices
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise-level application ecosystems (ERP, OMS, CRM, WMS, etc.)
  • A team player with great knowledge and understanding of the key platform players in the space of composable best-of-breed technology, most importantly: commerce tools, Contentful, Contentstack, Fluent, and Amplience
  • Experience on working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and application levels
  • Ability to oversee and steer large-scale implementations
  • Ability to work in matrix organizations
  • Strong business understanding and ability to communicate technical recommendations in business terms
  • Strong understanding of Commerce Business Models and -Processes (B2B and B2C)
  • Project management skills / Methodology knowledge
  • Bring strong experience headless user interface development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks
  • Ability to travel 25% on average based on the work you do

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Work closely with colleagues (Delivery Managers, Solution Architects) and partners to clarify, define, and architect technology solutions to meet business needs. This includes a lead role in project discovery and definition workshops, creating scope and development estimates, and documenting requirements and designs.
  • Designs transformational technical solutions that meet business requirements in accordance with company and industry best practices.
  • Partners with other platform and enterprise architects, external vendors and consultants to understand and adopt the latest technologies.
  • Leads architect platform initiatives, running proof of concept and prototypes to evaluate solutions and creating the build blocks for possible future deployments.
  • Develops a mid-term (18-36 month) strategic roadmap for specific domain area, including the interim transition architectures that need to be applied to address tactical needs.
  • Protects integrity of composable platform in close collaboration with solution and enterprise architects
  • Maintains overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc
  • Experience with React, Amplience and commercetools
