Role Overview:

Working closely with Senior Finance Leaders, the Sr. Accountant will plan and carry out responsibilities related to maintaining the financial records of the Company. In support of top management goals and the Finance organizational objectives, maintains proper control processes, procedures, accounting and financial reporting. This role involves multiple-entity financials and has the potential for growth within the business.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Maintains Financial Records in accordance with Accounting Standards and MMA policies
  • Reviews agency financials for accuracy and completeness
  • Responsible for month-end financial close
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc financial reports
  • Prepares Corporate/Compliance analysis, including revenue analyses, production analyses, etc.
  • Evaluates financial operations and builds process efficiencies
  • Prepares Journal Entries for Intercompany & Corporate allocations
  • Reviews expenses for accuracy and compliance with MMA policies
  • Leads A/P and A/R processes
  • Reviews organizational processes to ensure appropriate internal control environment
  • Assists with forecasting and budgeting processes

Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Accounting or Finance operations role required
  • Knowledge of GAAP required
  • Must be highly proficient with MS Office, including advanced MS Excel skills
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience in Insurance / Brokerage and/or Financial Services industries preferred
  • Knowledge of Insurance agency software a plus
