Job Title: Small Business Account Manager

DEPARTMENT:Business Insurance - Select/Small Business Unit

DIVISION: Huntsville


The main goal of the Select/Small Business Unit Account Manager is for the service of new and existing accounts.

Areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and grow the existing Select/Small Commercial Lines Business Unit book of business
  • Develop successful relationships and work directly with clients
  • Ensure clients are provided the best service, coverage, and pricing
  • Encourage account rounding, when applicable
  • Monitor and collect aged receivables and insurance company direct billing
  • Assist the team in marketing of new and renewal business
  • Correspond with clients, prospects, and carriers
  • Utilize agency management, imaging systems, client data agency system, and carrier interface to service clients and process according to agency standards
  • Investigate all accounting discrepancies and correct accordingly
  • Process incoming requests for insurance changes from customers and additional information from the carriers as received

  • 2+ years insurance experience in an agency or brokerage environment
  • Independent decision maker with motivation and enthusiasm
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Multi-tasked and detail oriented
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must learn the agency management and imaging systems
  • Must have Resident State Agents License (Property & Casualty) or obtain within 90 days of employment
