Lead Project Manager - Mercer

Mercer is looking for a Senior Lead Project Manager experienced in all aspects of managing highly complex projects. This includes preparing project plans, tracking progress, holding internal and external status meetings, maintaining issues and decisions logs, identifying risks, facilitating problem resolution with clients and internal stakeholders, directing resources, providing analytics and developing/presenting reports to clients and management.The right person will be comfortable interacting with, presenting to, and partnering with clients on projects. You may also be asked to supervise other project managers, oversee projects run by others, and/or provide overall technical, product and/or process expertise to the defined benefit implementation functional area.

For this opportunity, you will be applying your project management expertise in the Defined Benefit pension area. Specifically, Defined Benefit pension administration. Experience in this area is critical as that context will help you be successful in understanding the project content and activities and in relating to the client base. We are also open to consider people with strong experience in other retirement plan (or general benefit plan) areas that have managed projects as part of their role. Very strong technical knowledge and experience with defined benefit pension plan administration is vital to this role. Experience with special pension projects, such as plan terminations, data cleanup and compliance audits is also helpful.

As a Senior Lead Project Manager, you will be poised when collaborating with clients and leadership. Your ability to present ideas and facts, coupled with your ability to influence, will be important in managing your initiatives through their lifecycle. You will also be expected to maintain a level of autonomy and self-direction to plan and execute your projects. With your level of expertise, we expect you to point out opportunities to improve processes and best practices as they occur. We want to know what you know! If you have formal project management training, PMP or Agile, that would be a major plus for this role.
