Finance Director, US Market, Wealth

The Mercer division of Marsh & McLennan Companies is looking for the next impactful and dynamic employee to join the team as the Wealth Finance Director of US markets. The successful candidate will have strong working experience managing and leadingFP&A within a line of business for a similarlylarge, complex organization. This position manages the department which includes multiple teams led by Manager and/or Supervisors in Financial Planning and Analysis, where problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis. This position manages and executes group strategy and operational direction by determining the financial priorities and processes of functions supported.   • Directs the financial planning, reporting, and analytics support used by Senior Leadership and regional business leaders, and communicates the impact of analyses and forecasts.
  • Assesses finance structure, processes and reporting and develops processes to simplify, automate, or streamline, to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Reviews existing cost pools for further consolidation.
  • Provides strong financial leadership and determines overall direction and setting of finance priorities, in order to meet the needs of the functions supported.
  • Initiates and leads special projects related to business unit performance, M&A, and other strategic opportunities, and provides through leadership on an approach to analyses.
  • Develops and implements processes to improve overall FP&A reporting and analytics in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Develops budgets and forecasts based on established objectives and initiatives.
  • Recommends changes to financial strategies. Provides support for financial transactions and business decisions.
  • Leads, directs and develops financial staff, to ensure financial practices are conducted accurately and compliantly with regulations, laws and standards.
  • Reviews and tests consolidated annual budget schedules, organizes and updates the budget schedules and instructions.


Requirements:
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
  • Experience managing FP&A for asset management, wealth management, private equity, or investment bank preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of experience leading financial strategies of a similarly complex organization or division.
  • Ability to build relationships with business leaders; influence and advise on key decisions.
  • Results-focused, analytical approach with a strong customer / client service
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage, manage, and influence team members and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and break down complex issues and resolve in a simplistic manner using available resources, information, knowledge of business
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneous in an ever changing and fast paced environment with variable timelines
  • Proven people manager with ability to influence staff with or without direct reporting responsibility
  • Act with integrity and have confidence in outlining risks to achieving financial commitments
