Environmental Health & Safety Abatement Consultant

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for oversight management of water intrusion, microbial and asbestos abatement projects.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities of environmental consultants, abatement contractors and property management.
  • Interface with clients' risk management staff, and insurance claims adjustors.
  • Maintain status reports and monthly summaries of incident activities.
  • Manage and conduct onsite asset assessments and abatement projects.
  • Prepare and review third-party assessment and abatement reports.
  • Review consultant and contractor technical and cost proposals.
  • Develop, implement and maintain client specific written programs/manuals/protocols adhering to pertinent local, state & federal environmental, health & safety regulations.
  • Monitor regulations development and emerging risk research to keep our clients apprised and project standards of any changes to laws/ regulations/standard practices that would potentially affect their business or compliance practices.

  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Must have expertise in project construction management
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure (HVAC, water supply systems)
  • Excellent soft (people) skills; ability to work well with clients, consultants, contractors and property management
  • Must be self-starter, motivated individual with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Computer skills: MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) skills are a plus

  • 7-10 years minimum environmental construction management mandatory
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Environmental Science or similar field of study required or equivalent industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and best-management practices pertaining to asbestos, water intrusion, microbial assessment and abatement
  • Hazardous materials management and indoor air quality certifications preferred
  • Willing to obtain professional certifications through training including water Intrusion and Microbial mitigation, and Asbestos Inspector and Management Planner
