The Data & Analytics Platform Leader will collaboratively partner with MMC and third party vendors to evolve our Data & Analytic capabilities and cloud-based platform. This team is responsible for connecting data across Mercer and MMC Operating Companies.

To fulfill this role, the Digital Data and Analytics Platform Leader will:

  • Be a Digital Transformation Champion- focused on automation and process improvements to increase client satisfaction and drive new revenue opportunities through data monetization
  • Be a highly technical Data leader with core capabilities in Cloud Technologies, Multi-Domain Master Data Management with a fixed focus on data governance as well as with overall Data Warehousing and optimal delivery strategies
  • Manage and optimize processes for data ingestion, validation, mining and engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication deliverables via the data pipeline
  • Stand up a sandbox in which business as well as Data Science teams can "play" and then partner with those colleagues to design a structure that best meets their needs and commercialization
  • Establish a fortified computing environment to enable the development Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing/ capabilities
  • Create a "Model Factory" for Data Science Models and Algorithms to ensure governance
  • Have a solid understanding of recommendation engines, the latest DS technologies as well as the basics for development of data ecosystems
  • Review the Mercer architecture (both data and non-data) to inventory the digital capabilities and make connections between the various structures in place
  • Anticipate upcoming business and technology trends/demands to design data solutions to meet these needs
  • Drive business engagement with leaders (both those who are already on board and those who are not) to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions
  • Ensure the team develops knowledge and competencies to understand the business and help develop solutions and share that knowledge with the development team
  • Demonstrate strong human centric leadership skills, as well as provide mentoring and coaching to team and others
  • Be fluent in negotiating, influencing and selling the Platform capabilities to C-Suite leaders
  • Facilitate and influence client decision-making from a technical solution delivery perspective

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8-10+ years in Data & Analytics teams delivering products and services
  • Expert in data mining principles: predictive analytics, data collection from disparate systems both on premise and cloud-based data sources
  • Solid understanding of and experience with analytical concepts such as hypothesis development, design and implementation of test/experiments/POCs, data analysis, drawing conclusions and the development of actionable recommendations for the LOBs
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • Cloud Implementation: (AWS/EMR), Snowflake
    • Data Storage and Management: Apache (Hive, Pig, Spark), Hadoop, MongoDB, Kafka, TIBCO, Apigee, Informatica
    • Machine Learning: Python, R, Scala
    • Data Governance: Collibra, Atlas, Erwin, Ranger
    • Data Privacy: GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA
    • Data architecture: governance, modeling, ontology
    • Data Visualization: Qlik, Microstrategy
    • Digital Data: Salesforce, Adobe Analytics

  • Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and partner with agile teams to deliver iterative and measurable outcomes
  • Passionate about possibilities and driven to deliver value added solutions to support an increasingly digital enabled world
  • Strong ability to manage numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to act decisively, anticipate and react to high speed of change, and navigate through complexity
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Business or other quantitative discipline
  • MBA or MS in Computer Science, Science, Business or other quantitative discipline (Optional)
