JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Global Operations, Online Retail is an innovative digital marketing expert who balances intuition with analytics and collaboration. The role develops and implements the strategic online retail marketing plan for multiple Marriott brands by integrating into an overall marketing strategy and identifying unique opportunities for the business. In addition, this Senior Manager helps identify, prioritize and execute on functional enhancements, and recommends internal/external partnerships with the intent of growing revenues. This position may be responsible for overseeing other aspects of the website such as the advertising, content components, third party marketplace integration and optimization techniques/best practices.

The core focus areas for this role are:

  1. Driving revenue growth for the online retail business

  2. Marketing, Partnerships and Promotional Planning

  3. Business Reporting & Analytics

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:

1) Support Marketing Efforts

  • Responsible for managing marketing initiatives and promotions including the creation of external partnerships
  • Responsible for providing direction and regular communication to agencies on marketing initiatives
  • Partners with agency or internal execution teams to effectively optimize in-market campaigns
  • Develops strong relationships with Marriott subject matter experts and channel leaders, agencies, media and distribution partners to cost-effectively maximize opportunities for the retail brands while ensuring high-quality on-strategy creative is delivered
  • Develops guidelines and best practices within areas of expertise
  • Stays abreast of changes in the online marketing environment to best serve the objectives of the organization and adjusts plans accordingly

2) Marketing, Partnerships and Promotional Planning

  • Coordinates with brand partners to align retail and brand promotional calendars
  • Works with external agencies to plan marketing calendars aimed at maximizing revenue
  • Researches industry trends and emerging best practices to ensure that marketing efforts are as effective as possible
  • May be responsible for overseeing other aspects of website such as the advertising, content components, third party marketplace integration and 

optimization techniques/best practices

3) Business Reporting & Analytics

  • Analyzes and reports to team on website and marketing trends
  • Creates quarterly dashboards summarizing performance for department heads
  • Works with external vendors to ensure that accurate data is provided in a timely manner
  • Creates reports as needed for brand and marketing partners

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
  • Senior Manager, GO, Online Retail

Preferred Education:

  • Advanced degree a plus (e.g. MBA)
  • Specific digital / interactive marketing training / certificates highly preferred

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required Experience:

  • 7-10 years of Online Marketing, Merchandising and/or eCommerce experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to influence at an executive level through exceptional business acumen, domain expertise and gravitas
  • Has a wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Ability to work in conjunction with other internal and external groups to accomplish all goals
  • Has proven understanding of all aspects of sales channel conversion including merchandising, promotions, analytics and product capabilities
  • Is a big picture thinker who is also detail and results-oriented, organized and committed to flawless execution
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Direct experience managing merchandising strategies in an eCommerce organization
  • Hands-on experience in direct to consumer marketing communications, ideally in the retail and/or eCommerce space
  • Proven skill in working across multiple and distinct functional organizations (e.g. Marketing, Brand, Analytics) in support of specific business priorities
  • Demonstrated comfort with web analytics
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products
  • Experience with Tableau and databases preferred (or similar software)
