The challenge

The Cloud Technology organization builds platform and client services that are foundational building blocks for many other Adobe products and services. Areas of focus include: identity, security, cloud storage, e-commerce, workflow management, synchronization, customer facing web apps, scalability, infrastructure management and search, just to name a few. Our mission is to build highly scalable, highly available and highly resilient services that fulfill the business objectives of Adobe.

The role

Adobe Research is seeking researchers in dialogue systems, natural language processing, and deep learning to join the Media Intelligence Lab, based in San Jose. Ideal candidates will have expertise in the field, as evidenced by peer-reviewed academic publication, combined with hands-on industrial research experience. Priority will be placed on candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: NLP, dialogue systems, image and video understanding, vision, search, semantic segmentation, and deep learning.

As a researcher, you will be joining a vibrant team to build the future of conversational computing and automatic understanding of multi-modal digital media. You will have the opportunity to develop innovative ideas suitable for academic publication, to mentor interns, and to participate in our university collaboration program. You will also work with product teams to implement those ideas as advanced features for our elite products, thereby reaching millions of people worldwide with your work.

These positions will be based in Adobe's San Jose, California headquarters.



The requirements
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science in NLP, Dialogue Systems, or related technical field
  • Strong peer-reviewed publication track record
  • Solid machine learning skills, including practical experience in deep learning
  • Desire to do outstanding publishable research and develop advanced features for Adobe's conversational intelligent agents, document understanding, imaging, video, and analytics products
