Principal Systems Engineer, R&D (Atlanta, GA)

Principal Systems Engineer, R&D positions offered by Manhattan Associates, Inc. (Atlanta, GA). Manage projects and development of detailed design specifications in connection with the hardware, network and systems deployment and performance engineering processes for Manhattan's supply chain products and services. Exercise discretion to determine optimal and efficient deployment architecture for multiple areas of the software system. Project manage the implementation and deployment of hardware systems to achieve optimal performance and high availability. Ensure projects are on schedule and within budget. Oversee the facilitation of technology and skills knowledge transfer within the team and across departments.

Requires bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of experience working with a Unix/Linux environment as a developer, systems administrator or a database administrator. Also requires: 4 years of experience developing with Java, C, C++ or SQL; and 3 years of experience developing with scripting languages used in a Unix/Linux environment. Requires 2 years of experience performance tuning operating systems and diagnosing issues with IO latency, memory management, file systems structures and paging. Requires 1 year of experience in architecture design of enterprise application software or enterprise hardware components. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
