Principal Consultant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures key project goals and metrics are discussed and addressed throughout the project.
  • Lead Individual Contributor. Has full project management responsibility, which may include administrative aspects of: project planning, delegation and review, change management, risk management, status reporting to Project Steering Committee, achievement of quality and service standards, facilitation of teamwork, and mentoring/career advising/ training
  • Project management skills, rather than technical skills, are key, but a strong technical background is often required to manage competing interests
  • Manages project team members and verifies quality of project deliverables.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of product or platform to the completion of complex assignments.
  • Proactively troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise during the implementation. Updates and maintains the project issues list, which includes prioritizing the issues.
  • Proactively drives and leads the design session and performs detailed design for WMS functional flow, host interface and MHE interface client specific enhancements.
  • Drives and leads the whole implementation to meet the target timeline and budget. Proactively communicates and manages risks both internally and with the clients.
  • Works with customer to test and implement interfaces between MA products or external systems.
  • Works directly with the customer project team (primarily onsite) during configuration, testing, training, and implementation.
  • Coordinates all aspects of a product or service offering project for a client, from inception to installation
  • Installations may involve acceptance of capitalized equipment or enterprise software systems, or system integration or consulting projects/engagement
  • Typically involves extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development, and other members of cross-functional teams
  • Typically oversees schedules and budgets to ensure goal attainment
  • May serve as a project leader on smaller engagements, with day-to-day responsibilities for ensuring quality products and timely services.
  • May define and communicate performance expectations and goals at the project team and individual level.
  • Pre-sales support. Managing the creation of Statement of Works (SOW).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in related industry field. More than 3 years' hands-on experience in one of the WMS solutions would be preferred: RedPrairie/JDA, Infor, Manhattan, Oracle, HighJump, SAP, FLUX.
  • Experience working in a client/customer facing role within a supply chain or software organization.
  • Project management skills. At least 2 years' experience in related project management. Demonstrated ability to manage a project/successful go-live. More than 3 end to end projects in one of the WMS solutions would be preferred: RedPrairie/JDA, Infor, Manhattan, Oracle, HighJump, SAP, FLUX.
  • Proven record of effectively designing and scoping a complex project
  • Experience working in a client/customer facing role within a supply chain or software organization.
  • Independently performs assignments to achieve stated objective. Determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • May be responsible for entire projects having modest scope/impact or portions of projects having considerable scope/impact.
  • Performs advanced level professional work that typically requires identifying key barriers/core problems and applying problem-solving skills to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.
  • Resolves complex problems where the issues are difficult to identify and facts may be insufficient or misleading.
  • Employs creative and innovative thinking to bring successful resolution to high-impact, complex problems.
  • Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, technical) doing individual contributor work.
  • Good client management skill.
  • Good presentation skill and support sales for opportunities.
  • Knowledge and experience in at least one domain of supply chain, e-Commerce, retail, inbound logistics for manufacturing, etc.
  • Proactive communicator with strong listening and communication skills in English and Chinese.
  • Able to travel within China or outside of China.
