Project Manager - Hardware

The Hardware Project Manager will lead and track products from concept through execution, as well as manage schedules, prototypes, testing and external deliverables and keep various engineering disciplines synchronized.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop and track schedules for large engineering projects
  • Work with engineering to drive issues to completion
  • Work with the Operations Team and Contract Manufacturers to address quality and support issues
  • Facilitate solving engineering design issues as appropriate
  • Estimate task duration and level of effort
  • Lead prototype creation, manage test cycles and review test results
  • Strategically prioritize features and tasks, and direct engineering efforts accordingly
  • Manage key vendor relationships 
  • Track component and system costs

Job Qualifications

  • A  B.S. in a technical field (preferably electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering) from an accredited institution
  • An organized approach to technical problem solving
  • Rigorous attention to detail
  • First hand experience designing or debugging electrical or mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Understanding of common manufacturing techniques 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including MS project

 
Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D printers
  • Solidworks or AutoCAD experience
  • Personnel management experience 
  • Familiarity with 3D printing or MakerBot
