Senior Coordinator, Player Relations


The Senior Coordinator, Player Relations & Competition is responsible for player administration and acts as the day-to-day contact with the MLS Players Union, player intermediaries, and assigned clubs on player related questions.




  • Coordinate with player administration processes (e.g. P1 Visa processing, US Soccer player registration, processing and tracking of all player payments, maintenance of files, etc.)
  • Monitor international player registration and visa status
  • Process and track agent fees and transfer fees  
  • Respond to player inquiries
  • Organize communication with agents, consultants and clubs
  • Assist in preparation of documents for player proposals
  • Manage communication with MLS clubs on player needs
  • Research, preparation of analysis and presentations on player areas
  • Assist in management and maintenance of club salary budgets and salary cap
  • Liaise with Players Union
  • Interpret and assist in the enforcement of the Competition Guidelines

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5+ years of experience


Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge and interest in Major League Soccer, our teams, players and rules
  • Knowledge and/or experience with international player movement, FIFA structure and regulations preferred
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

 Desired Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish preferred (oral and written)
  • Legal background a plus
