Infrastructure and Real Assets - ESG Manager

Our Infrastructure and Real Assets team is looking for an experienced ESG professional to join their team in New York.

Utilize your expertise in assessing environmental and social risks and opportunities, as well as your commercial understanding of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) in this exciting opportunity in our Infrastructure and Real Assets, Sustainability Team.

This is a high-profile role where you will use your 5+ years of sustainability/ESG experience in a corporate, industry, consulting or government environment to support the implementation of our framework and sustainability strategy in the Americas.

Responsibilities include conducting technical analysis/assessment of environmental and social risks and opportunities in transactions, including scoping and analyzing due diligence reports and managing aspects of our sustainability strategy; including implementing policies, systems and projects and providing training.

Working with teams within the Infrastructure and Real Assets business and within the underlying portfolio companies, you will provide guidance and support on sustainability best practice and initiatives and help drive value through sustainability. You will work to define key material issues, and KPIs from our Americas portfolio of investments and coordinate the completion of GRESB assessments by regional funds and assets. In addition, you'll also assist with our Principles for Responsible Investment submission process.

In this role, you will also be presenting to investors and other external parties and preparing and reviewing ESG related communications including responses to investor due diligence enquiries, preparing data analysis, presentations and thought leadership reports. We would expect you to have a relevant degree in finance, environmental science or related area and previous experience in the development and implementation of policy or management systems. Industry experience in finance, energy, infrastructure sectors and/or climate change issues is preferred.

You will understand commercial drivers for ESG and have experience in embedding ESG projects within organizations. The ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and manage diverse stakeholders is imperative and you must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, an attention to detail and be self-motivated. Also beneficial in this role would be an understanding of greenhouse gas accounting, climate risk assessment, and lifecycle analysis.
