Commodities Trading Credit Risk - Manager

As a Manager in our commodities-focused, Credit Risk team in New York, you will be responsible for overseeing the risk profile of the corporate counterparties transacting with our New York commodities trading businesses, including the exchange-traded and OTC derivatives activities within the Commodities and Global Markets division. The expansion of our trading businesses in the Americas offers variety in your work, as well as unmatched learning and development opportunities to work with an established and experienced credit team. You will be responsible for liaising with various stakeholders, including relationship managers, operations teams and legal in overseeing this portfolio, with responsibility also extending to management of junior analysts who support these trading businesses.

Your persuasive communication skills combined with the confidence when being challenged, cross disciplinary thinking and entrepreneurial spirit will aid you in speaking to traders/marketers to respond to trading requests, as well as meeting with existing and potential clients as part of the due diligence process and to gain a better understanding of the client's financial position and operations. You will review new counterparties (primarily corporate counterparties and trading companies) and provide recommendation/opinion on establishment of limits. Assisting with transactions early in the deal process, identifying key issues and coordinating the credit response, annual reviews for existing counterparty limits, and monitoring credit exposures will require your high degree of ownership, delivery and timeliness.

Strong numerical and analytical skills and a genuine interest in financial markets, as well as knowledge of current market activity, will be demonstrated in your due diligence and negotiation of legal documentation. You will provide portfolio analysis and report to senior management about the real time, ongoing and self-initiated monitoring of counterparty developments and market changes.

This role requires 5+ years of relevant experience and qualifications in finance, economics, engineering, or other quantitative disciplines. Being a collegial team member with a high degree of initiative and achievement drive, and an inquisitive nature will also be important traits for your success in this role.
