Analyst/Associate, Principal Finance

By joining the Principal Finance team, you will be assigned to new investment opportunities as they become available. Our Analysts and Associates are responsible for analyzing and forming a view on new investment opportunities, as well as actively monitoring their portfolio.

The primary focus of this position is to identify, analyze and execute investment opportunities together with other team members. You will perform financial and credit analysis; including detailed financial modeling, sensitivity analysis and preparation of internal presentations and memos.

Additionally, you will provide exotic data sourcing and analysis - the team is very data driven and relies heavily upon the associate team to both source and creatively analyze data to form investment theses. You will demonstrate a detailed understanding of business models leveraging your ability to break down a business by its key drivers and articulate both quantitatively and qualitatively. You will monitor portfolio accounts, analyze business trends, track financial performance and closely monitor any distressed situations. Lastly you will play an important part of deal sourcing and structuring, monitor market conditions and identify areas of opportunity, as well as work with the team to source and structure new transactions.

You will have a minimum of one year of experience in investment banking or investment management with extensive exposure to business analysis and/or research, excellent education credentials, the ability to think "outside the box" and come up with creative problem-solving techniques. You will be a detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and have extensive experience in both Excel and PowerPoint.

Our team has offices in New York, Chicago and San Francisco but the position is flexible regarding location.
