Maana is hiring an Knowledge Architect


Maana is a software company with a solutions platform that will revolutionize how knowledge is captured and used to optimize decision-making. The Maana Customer Operations team focuses on using the patented Maana technology to solve some of the toughest problems in our customers’ industries. We are looking for someone who is passionate about understanding and transforming complex problems into an elegant solution plan which is simple and actionable.

Relocation expenses are not being offered for this position.

Essential Functions

  • Meet with solution end users and perform independent research to develop a working understanding of their business domain
  • Collaborate with end users to scope out the business problem
  • Create one-sentence high level summaries of business problems which capture all required inputs and desired output
  • Define and model key concepts required to implement a solution, their interactions and relationships from business perspective
  • Work with UX designers to ensure the user experience and solution design are aligned
  • Explain architecture to key business stakeholders, capture feedback, incorporate it into the design and confirm validity
  • Develop knowledge architecture in the form of microservices with logical functions that follows best practices and will be handed off to development team for implementation
  • Sync with development team technical lead and project manager regularly throughout solution development to ensure specifications are being followed, answer questions and update design as needed
  • Capture lessons learned and incorporate into knowledge modeling best practices

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Physics, related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years designing software solutions
  • Solid understanding of functional programming, data structures, and algorithms
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written & diagrams)
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, complexity and abstract concepts

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with GraphQL and working with graphs
  • Understanding of agile development practices
  • Experience with microservice architecture
