Senior Sales Compensation Analyst

Position Summary:

Senior Sales Compensation Analyst supports the development and administration of our Commercial Sales compensation programs. They will calculate compensation payments for sales personnel based on defined compensation plans and will perform support activities needed for the development, implementation, communication and administration of sales compensation or incentive programs, plans, policies and quotas. They will also reviews compensation payment reports for accuracy and completeness and resolve reconciliation issues. Using discretion and judgment, the Senior Sales Compensation Analyst will work as a strategic business partner with the Commercial Sales team to analyze the compensation plan structures, monitoring sales performance including the measurement and payout related to corporate and individual sales goals/objectives. They will maintain Xactly compensation calculation tool, identifying and driving opportunities for process improvements of systems to effectively track or capture data to gain longer term process efficiencies and more effective work-flow strategies. This role provides customer focused professional and proactive communication to Commercial Sales, Finance, Human Capital and Payroll teams, and partners with Payroll Operations to ensure payment submissions are timely and meet all requirements as outlined in the plan. Typically, spreadsheets, ERP systems or dedicated software programs are utilized to gather data for payment calculation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administers complex sales compensation plans, ensuring compensation and bonus calculations are set up correctly in the Xactly compensation system and are completed in a timely manner
  • Provides interpretation and education of sales compensation plans to commercial sales. Fields questions from sales personnel and resolve reconciliation issues
  • Prepares and review compensation reports for accuracy and completeness, manages all reporting and maintain records
  • Analyzes compensation information, determines trends and communicate findings to Commercial Leadership
  • Contributes to the Xactly implementation and development/improvement of systems to effectively track or capture data
  • Maintains financial models to improve analytics and identify areas of improvement, supporting management decision making
  • Maintains compensation calculation tool (manual, ERP or software programs)
  • May perform cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission/ incentive plan design or quota levels while assisting in the preparation of annual sales compensation plans
  • Prepares all required audit documentation and ensures adherence to policies and procedures
  • Manages workflow and projects to ensure critical deadlines are met
  • Establishes and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to provide decision support
  • Performs support activities needed for the development, implementation, communication and administration of sales compensation or incentive programs, and plans
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5 years of sales compensation and calculation experience, including development and administration of sales compensation plans
  • BA degree in Finance, Business or related field
  • Proficient in an automated commission system processing tool - Xactly a plus!
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work confidentially with minimal supervision
  • Good organizational skills and ability to understand workflow and priorities
  • Ability to multi-task and not miss a deadline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with multiple Sales Teams and communicate effectively
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Internet applications
  • Proficiency with database and CRM tools, preferably Salesforce.com
  • Understanding of basic database principles and skill with simple SQL statements are a plus
