UX Writer

Help shape our brand experience for drivers and passengers by crafting straightforward, human, and clear UX/UI copy. From ideation through implementation, you'll work with a team of designers, product managers, and engineers to actively participate in all phases of the design process and create a great user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit clear, concise product copy (in-app copy, notifications, error messages, feature naming, and more)
  • Be an advocate for a vision for product content across all channels
  • Champion the Lyft brand voice and style throughout all channels
  • Write hard-hitting copy that drives action and performance
  • Translate complicated concepts into jargon-free concise copy
  • Work with user research team to implement user feedback and insights
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, marketers, project managers, and stakeholders on a daily basis
  • Effectively maintain multiple projects with fast-moving schedules
  • Quickly adapt to last-minute asks and changing timelines 
  • Create, maintain, and evolve content guidelines
  • Own creative projects and tasks with guidance and support from senior leads

Experience/Skills:

  • 4-6+ years experience writing for an established consumer brand
  • A conceptual mind that considers not just copy, but design and visuals as well
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to understand and discuss strategy, metrics, and results
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset
  • Detail-oriented

Nice to Have:

  • Copy editing experience
  • Experience writing for an ESL audience
  • Familiarity with keyword placement and other SEO best practices
  • Has used Lyft as a passenger and/or driver
  • Experience with Blind Accessibility – readouts for buttons
