Senior Software Engineer

The Opportunity

Lucid's dynamic, rapidly growing technology group is looking for an experienced API and backend engineer. You will help create the next generation of services for supporting both internal and external business needs for clients around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy services that are high-availability, low-latency, and scale infinitely
  • Work across teams and departments to meet goals
  • Take requirements from the Product team and make technical specifications
  • Plan tests with the QA team from the specifications
  • Write elegant, well-documented code that passes those tests
  • Support the DevOps team with continuous delivery of those projects
  • Turn your good practices into good libraries for the betterment of the entire team
  • Work within release schedules and report on your progress

Qualifications

  • Appreciate clean abstractions, narrow interfaces, and small objects
  • Experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing high performance code
  • Play well with others
  • Pragmatically applies the best data structures, algorithms, and patterns for the problem at hand
  • Technology changes often, but you keep up with it
  • Like your code, you do not fail silently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large and complex code bases
  • Understanding of best practices around code testing and peer review
  • Experience with modern NoSQL data stores (Cassandra, ElasticSearch, etc.)
  • Previous work with Python, JavaScript, Django, and Node.js
  • Strong mentorship game, can act as both teacher and student
