Director, Revenue Accounting

The Opportunity

Lucid seeks a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead the revenue accounting team in a dynamic,fast-paced environment.  The Director of Revenue will report to the Global Controller/VP and will oversee the recognition of revenue and cost of sales for all product and service lines. This position will also support all revenue and cost of sales related accounting activities, including month-end close, financial statement audits, process improvements, and other special projects. The ideal candidate should have a CPA and 7+ years of experience (4+ public accounting and audit preferred) with thorough knowledge of GAAP and reporting requirements. The ability to meet deadlines and flexibility while leading a team and handling changing priorities are essential in this position. This person will lead, manage, and grow a team while working closely with management and other departments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial close process in the areas of Revenue and Cost of Sales – coordinate efforts to maintain schedule while ensuring that required financial data is properly captured, reconciled, documented, and disclosed in accordance with US GAAP
  • Coordinate efforts to maintain processing cycles and a close schedule while ensuring that required financial data is properly captured, reconciled, documented, and disclosed
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls over Revenue/CoGS and invoicing/remittance processing for various products and deliverables.
  • Review and approve invoicing, remittance, and accounting transactions, maintain respective general ledger accounts and fiscal records
  • Develop, train, prioritize, and manage accounting team to meet the company’s needs and objectives
  • Support annual financial statement and statutory audits and ensure timely completion
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong cross-functional and Director level relationships
  • Ad hoc financial reporting and analysis, as well as special projects as needed
  • Work closely with other business units to identify and manage integrated solutions for maintaining the accurate recognition of Revenue and Cost of Sales activity in order to produce accurate and timely invoicing, remittance processing, analysis, and accounting of Lucid’s Gross Margin 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree & CPA required; MS or MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience required; 4+ years of public audit experience preferred
  • Software as a Service/Technology industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong cross-functional and Director level relationships
  • Knowledge and experience with GAAP, monthly close process, and audit facilitation
  • Demonstrable experience in managing and coaching teams effectively
  • Strong self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and as a cross-functional team member
  • Excellent Excel and Technology skills required – Ability to quickly learn enterprise accounting software
  • Team player with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and a strong desire to automate and streamline manual processes
  • High-energy with ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and unstructured environment
