Reporting to the Head of Institutional RIA, the Director is responsible for proactively engaging the largest Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) within the South-West/Western part of the United States in an effort to cultivate new relationships, generate new business, and provide superior client service. This individual must bring focused expertise and a deep understanding of the institutional-level demands of these RIAs. Additionally, this individual must possess an outstanding work ethic, an insightful consultative approach, a proven ability to collaborate with colleagues, and the highest level of technical expertise.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving all sales in their assigned territory by serving as a proactive relationship manager for assigned accounts
  • Partnering with CIOs, Research Analysts, Principals and Financial Consultants to promote the sale and marketing of Lord, Abbett & Co. mutual funds and products to their clients
  • Articulating a deep knowledge of Lord Abbett, the capital markets, along with our mutual funds and separately managed accounts
  • Delivering presentations on a regular basis to Research Analysts and Investment Committees
  • Coordinating marketing and sales support services for assigned accounts to enhance existing relationships and develop new ones
  • Understanding current market conditions and the potential impact on our investment products
  • Collaborating closely with professionals in key areas of Lord, Abbett & Co., including Investments,Core Services, Institutional, Retail, Strategic Relations and Product Strategy

You’ll need to have:

Qualifications

  • 10 + years prior experience in financial services, with 3 - 5+ years’ experience working with RIAs is preferred.
  • Ideally located within the territory
  • Series 7 and 66 licenses
  • Ability to work independently
  • Deep knowledge of securities markets and current market conditions
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills (written and verbal), and follow-up skills
  • Proactive, collaborative team player
  • High sense of urgency, and high degree of initiative and self-motivation
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Innovative, high energy, dynamic, and entrepreneurial
