Site Reliability Engineer (REMOTE)

Logic20/20 is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our team to support the development and operations of a large-scale application, running in Kubernetes and using Angular 8, Node.JS, MS SQL, C#.

The work will include both ongoing operational support and technical dept reduction. 

Within the team structure, you will be increasing the system’s reliability, scalability and operational efficiency through automation.

In this role, you will use a diverse set of technical expertise; including back-end/ front-end development, DevOps tooling, troubleshooting and debugging skills, cloud computing, coding/scripting. Beyond your technical qualification, you will also have a healthy combination of cross-group collaboration skills, communication and relationship building skills. 

Service Desk

  • Knowledge of incident management, release management​
  • Responsible for analyzing and triaging user identified issues
  • Responsible for triggering first line services repair actions​
  • Complete Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations
  • Responsible for communicating incident post-mortem process to TPM and stakeholders ​
  • Improve team practices in handoffs of work and incidents​
  • Generate incidents data, including:  ​
    • Recommendations for development team ​
    • Run-books for future incident response ​
    • New monitoring/alerting thresholds​
    • Additional logging required​
  • Experience with Jira, Compass, PagerDuty or xMatters​

Monitoring and Incident Response

  • Application level monitoring: SPLUNK, AppDynamics ​
  • Infrastructure Monitoring: Grafana ​
  • Respond to automated reporting notifications
  • Resolve identified problems, notify stakeholders about progress​
  • Escalate application issues not directly related to application​
  • Responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring alert mechanisms and thresholds ​

Backlog Management 

  • Provide identified issues to team for prioritization​
  • Update tickets based on progress and log final resolution​s
  • Identify production issue patterns and propose solutions to address problems​

DevOps 

  • Hands-on experience with GitLab ​
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Mesos and Marathon​
  • Some knowledge/experience with microservices and use of containers ​

Administration 

  • Support access administration​
  • Maintain and manage security and access to the application​
  • Maintain Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD pipeline, including capacity management ​

Development

  • 3-5 years of Database Experience: MS SQL: building stored procedures, troubleshooting query execution, analyzing data flow​
  • 3-5 years software development experience with C#, Angular 8, and Node.JS​
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent practical experience​
  • Experience implementing test automation​
  • Experience working with Azure​

Communication

  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential ​
  • Self-started capable of dealing with ambiguity and minimally defined requirements​
  • Comfortable talking about technical things with business people and business things with technical people. Able to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences​
  • Ability to craft a compelling message and tailor it for a given audience. Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable and useful​
