Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control business is expanding at our campus at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico. We are seeking a qualified Test Engineer to join our team. Primary responsibility supporting the Air & Missile Defense test activities at the WSMR facility. This includes but is not limited to:

Primary employee responsibility is the configuration, operations and maintenance of classified data and telemetry acquisition systems for the Air and Missile Defense team at the White Sands Missile Range. This job requires performance duties within multiple company and US Government owned facilities, including deployed trailers and vans, and often during odd hours and in harsh environmental conditions. Employee is expected to work effectively as part of a diverse team of technicians, quality assurance and field service engineers; and to regularly interface with program management and USG representatives. Position requires regular travel primarily within the confines of White Sands Missile Range, with infrequent other CONUS and OCONUS travel.
The employee must understand and follow detailed plans and procedures, while operating within the proximity of live ordnance testing and integration activities. Position requires some physical labor to deploy and recover field equipment, and often requires use of standard test & troubleshooting equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and similar electronic tools; and various technical hand tools such as wire strippers, cable connector & repair tools, etc.
Employee will be required to drive forklifts and heavy-duty company pickup trucks, and to attach, tow and park trailers or generators, often in remote and off-road locations. Must be able to pass training requirements for these vehicles, including FMCSA training.
Employee must adhere to physical and information security standards and procedures, Environmental Health and Safety standards and procedures, and including compliance with environmental control procedures for the handling and disposition of hazardous materials and hazardous waste.

The locale: WSMR is located in southern New Mexico, and has an area of almost 3,200 square miles, and is near Alamogordo, NM, Las Cruces, NM, and El Paso, TX. The region is high desert with nearby mountain ranges and several manmade lakes that offer superb outdoor recreational activities. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and pleasant climate. This southern New Mexico / west Texas region is a great place to live and to raise a family, and is home to New Mexico State University and the University of Texas - El Paso.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience/combined education
Proficiency in the use of general Windows-based PC applications
Effective communication and teaming skills
Effective problem solving skills and ability to work independently
Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and/or computer equipment failures and fault isolation
Willingness to perform duties in a military ordnance integration and test environment
Ability to perform demanding physical duties in remote and sometimes harsh field environments
Demonstrated ability to use typical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and similar electronic tools; and various technical hand tools such as wire strippers, cable connector & repair tools, etc.
Ability to achieve commercial vehicle operations requirements, and to safely drive heavy-duty company pickup trucks and attach, tow, park and operate trailers/generators
Ability to understand and comply with physical and information security standards and procedures
Ability to understand and comply with Environmental Health and Safety standards and procedures, and including compliance with environmental control procedures for the handling and disposition of hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance and have ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of UNIX operating systems
Demonstrated ability in the configuration and operation of computer data systems and networks
Familiarity with RF antennas and telemetry acquisition systems, and copper and/or fiber optic data transmission systems
Proficiency with typical shop and bench tools
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
