Technical Field Service Representative
Javelin Field Service Representative (FSR) will be responsible for providing maintenance support to the Qatar customer in-country on the Javelin shoulder-fired missile Command Launch Unit (CLU), Javelin Basic Skills Trainer (BST), Javelin Weapons Effect Simulator (JavWES), and other Javelin-related equipment. The FSR will be required to use applicable technical publications in order to advise Qatar soldiers that will be performing repairs, including fault isolation, testing, and replacement of parts and adjustments to CLUs, BSTs, and JavWES units. The FSR will provide on-site technical guidance, liaison assistance and information pertinent to maintenance of the CLUs, BSTs, and JavWES units. The FSR will be required to perform in-country travel, as required by the Customer, to field locations in support of the tasks listed above. (The FSR will not be subject to deployment with Qatar forces.)
The FSR should have documented experience in providing academic or OJT training on electronic type of military equipment. The FSR will be the primary in-country point-of-contact on technical support issues. Must be comfortable with making formal presentations to audiences up to the O-6 level or higher.
Additionally, the FSR will provide logistical support for all Javelin-required equipment. This will demand the ability to personally interact with Qatari Armed Forces officers and soldiers (up to the rank of O-6 and higher) to meet their specific, constantly changing, Javelin equipment requirements. The FSR will also work with locally-based shipping companies to assist with coordination of equipment movements to the US-based maintenance facilities for repairs.
The FSR will be required to work a 40-hour work week, on a schedule determined by the Customer.
The selected candidate will spend up to 60 days at the Javelin Depot in Los Angeles for training, and then the projected length of in-country assignment is 18 months; with a potential follow-on extension.
Must be a US citizen.
The FSR must have experience with providing maintenance on military electronic equipment. The FSR must have basic knowledge of missile guidance systems, infrared technology, electronic circuitry, and proven skills with common hand tools.
The FSR must have proven skills in providing formal presentations to senior-level managers.
The FSR must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Bachelorâ€™s Degree, or 5 years of experience with other basic qualifications.
Javelin maintenance experience
Classroom training experience
Logistical military support experience in a foreign country
Previous US Army infantry experience
Basic skills in Arabic
