Supportability/Logistics Engineer

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Logistics/Maintainability Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to perform Logistics / Supportability / Maintainability Engineering tasks, conduct modeling and repair level analysis to minimize Operating and Support (O&S) costs, conduct Maintenance Planning and Provisioning Analysis and assigned tasks to ensure Supportability and Affordability requirements are achieved in the design. Duties include:

Plan and perform maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers

Conduct Maintenance Planning Analysis that identify all preventative and corrective maintenance actions along with required spares and support equipment and the need for each maintenance action and documents this analysis in a Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) database compliant with GEIA-STD-0007

Research and write technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures utilizing engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other design documentation for field and depot level repair of military systems.

Develop recommendations for field/depot spares, repair parts and support equipment (SE).

Provide support to Engineering staff for logistics requirement definition and allocation, detailed design guidance, system integration, and requirement verification

Flow down of the Supportability / Maintainability requirements to suppliers and audit/review of the supplier's analysis is also required

Provide Supportability / Maintainability analysis data to customers, design engineers and program management

Plans, hosts and supports Integrated Logistics Support Management Team meetings and logistics test events to validate the system's design and provide inputs to assessments and reports of these events

Work closely with Logistics / Maintainability, Test and Design engineering. Create, update and maintain a Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) database and Reports

Candidate will spend majority of time working in a team environment, providing inputs to engineers, performing analyses, and writing reports

Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), support Concept Screening Board (CSB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB). Participate in IPTs, Corrective Action Boards (CAB) and Failure Review Boards (FRB), as required. Provide logistics input and support to proposal efforts, design reviews and test activities, as required.

There may be some travel

Basic Qualifications

Must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance

Strong technical background.

Ability to research and write technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures utilizing engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other design documentation including definition of tool and consumable requirements.

Ability to acquire and verify subject matter content by interviewing workers engaged in developing products, observing production methods, referring to engineering drawings, notes, manuals, and similar publications.

Ability to write using clear and concise language that adheres to customer-established standards and conventions.

Ability to quickly learn new software tools and processes

Must be able to work well in a team environment. Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with very little or no direction; interacts well with others.

Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation.

Ability to work with cross functional teams.

Ability to manipulate and analyze computer aided design models using a 3-D viewer

Ability to manage subcontractors in Logistics field of expertise

Ability to develop Logistics Support Analysis Plans and Logistics Support Analysis Style Guides

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must

Additionally, candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups

Candidate must be willing to work overtime and travel as needed to support program requirements

Desired skills

Active Secret clearance

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree

Experience developing logistics data products and conducting Maintenance Planning in compliance with GEIA-STD-0007 standard

Experience planning for and supporting Logistics Evaluations and testing

Provisioning analysis experience

Military experience

Knowledge of the Army's Two Level Maintenance Concept in accordance with AR 750-1 and conducting Supportability Analysis in accordance with AR 700-127 or equivalent

Proficiency with SLICWave Logistics Management Information System tool

Experience and proficiency with COMPASS repair level analysis (RLA) modeling and developing RLA reports

Experience conducting diagnostics/testability analysis and conducting testability reviews

Working knowledge and proficiency with Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), eXtensible Markup Language (XML), Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation (XSLT)

Working knowledge and proficiency with Arbortext Editor including Styler (5.4 or higher) and UltraEdit or similar tools

Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro

Graphics illustration experience and skills using graphics tools such as ISOdraw, Autotrol or similar graphics tools

Proficiency as a technical writer

Working knowledge of MIL-STD-40051-1 and MIL-STD-40051-2 preferably Revision B, MIL-STD-2361C, MIL-PRF-63002 for Modification Work Orders, and MIL-PRF-63033 for Demilitarization

Experience leading or supporting Technical Publication validation and verification events

Experience leading or supporting Logistics Demonstration test events

Reliability/Maintainability engineering knowledge

Safety engineering knowledge

Human Factors Engineering knowledge
