Supplier Quality Field Engineer (SQFE)

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for a position based at a supplier facility in Endicott, NY. The position will require working flexible hours and some travel out of the assigned geographical area.

Duties include:

Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product line validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards.

Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions tied to Supplier Corrective Action Requests.

Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities.

Participate (as required) in supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to Lockheed Martin requirement documents and provide written weekly reports.

Provide technical liaison support related to quality engineering matters.

Ensure supplier contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified.

Interfaces and partners with supplier personnel daily.

Basic Qualifications
Technical Engineering Degree preferred.

Must have ability to obtain a security clearance.

A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Strong understanding of engineering requirements.

Must be able to identify and document supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action.

Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.

Understanding engineering drawings requirements mechanical and electrical inspection methods.

A basic understanding of special processes and an overall understanding of how to manage and interface with suppliers daily to support the Program(s).

Ability to certify/approve a supplier to perform specified processes.

Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.

Must have knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes and auditing/surveying capabilities.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and to support all supplier quality field engineering activities.

Effective communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports.

Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Sub-contracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives.

Desired skills
J-STD 001 and IPC A610 experience and/or certification.

Circuit Card Assembly knowledge.

A basic understanding of the MFC SAP and P2P business systems.

ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt).

Experience working with suppliers in a dynamic environment.

Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements.

Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers.

Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Demonstrated Leadership and Customer relationship management skills.
