Staff Systems Survivability Design and Analysis Engineer / Grand Prairie, TX

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Systems Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to help craft the direction of future weapon systems, and systems of systems. This engineer will be responsible for conducting analysis at the whole system level to chart the course of system design, to align that design to high level customer requirements, while meeting challenging affordability goals.

Typical duties include total Systems Analysis including:
Analysis of Alternative Architecture Approaches
Requirements derivation
Interface definition
Evaluation of missile system performance, especially and including integrated system performance
Value analysis
Cost and Risk assessment
Supportability analysis
Architecture and Trade Studies

Works well with a team, and results guide product development.


Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
with 9 years of systems engineering experience supporting technical programs

Knowledge of trade studies
Ability to translate concepts to algorithms, and implement into existing simulation frameworks
Understanding of both cost and value models
Knowledge of military systems
Familiarity with whole life cycle concerns
Capable of conducting analysis in both data rich, and data scarce environments
Must be able to work with a team and individually
Familiar with missions effectiveness and supportability

Active Secret clearance required prior to start

Desired skills
Familiarity with Air Defense, missiles, and/or typical sensors associated with weapon systems
Familiar translating ideas and concepts into tools/simulation
Familiar with requirements derivation, and DOORs
Familiar with interface documentation
Good communication skills, both written and oral
Experience working on a complex product
Experience managing teams, work and products
Can envision goals, define plans to reach them, and lead the team along the way
