Staff Controls Engineer / Servo Systems / Grand Prairie, TX
Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a Controls Engineer with an electrical engineering background to join our rapidly growing Electrical Engineering Department at our campus in Grand Prairie, TX.
The Electrical Engineer will work in an engineering design, systems integration, and production environment with cutting edge hardware, firmware, and systems. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience and knowledge in controls engineering / automation hardware selection and integration. The controls engineer will be responsible for servo systems subsystems selection and updates as well as evaluation of vendor solutions and will also provide technical input to the down select process.
Tasks include design reviews and updates, hardware design/selection and updates, lab testing and updates, integration/test planning and validation/verification of hardware subsystems within our weapons systems and products. The engineer will work with the vendors and suppliers to qualify subsystems products and parts within the program in preparation for production.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the "Mid-Cities" region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. Desired Skills:-Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or closely related technical field.
-Experience with flight controls hardware or firmware.
-Experience with inertial guidance systems hardware or firmware.
-Experience with servo systems hardware or firmware.
-Experience with MatLab.
-Experience with missile systems is desired but not required.
-Prior experience working with controls or flight controls or unmanned systems controls or automation systems or robotics.
-Knowledge of actuation systems, inertial measurement units (IMU's) or Pulse width modulation (PWM) would be a plus.
-Prior experience with DC motor controls.
-An active secret clearance is desired.
-A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related technical field and 9 years of career experience.
-Experience with controls engineering concepts and methodologies.
-Experience with hardware engineering from an electrical engineering point-of-view.
-Experience with circuit design.
-Experience with systems integration.
-The ability to work with suppliers and subcontracts as a project engineer / engineering lead.
-The ability to perform effectively as a technical team lead.
-US citizenship is required for DoD clearance purposes.
-Some domestic travel is anticipated.
