Quality Engineers at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control act as an integrated member of the design and production teams developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products.

To ensure our customer get the highest level of Quality, our Quality Engineers review documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure requirements are fulfilled.

In a culture of continuous improvement our department utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and drive affordability and efficiency. Working with an integrated team, which includes customer, suppliers and other functional personnel, nonconformances are identified, trended and resolved in a timely manner.

As a vital member of the team, a Quality Engineer at Missiles and Fire Control evaluates the designs, both electrical and mechanical, to ensure a producible product is being proposed with processes in place for a smooth production flow.

Basic Qualifications
Technical Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience in the field of non-destructive testing and evaluation.

Understanding of GD&T

NDT/NDE experience

Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex

Effective interpersonal skills, including Team building and Collaboration.

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Demonstrated Presentation skills

Ability to travel

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Desired skills
Mechanical Engineering Degree

NDT/NDE Level 2 certified

Experience working with additive manufactured parts

Experience working with composites parts

Pro-E software experience

VG Studio Max 3.1 experience

Broad knowledge of Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and / or CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Associate)

SAP Application Experience.

Experience with use of test equipment to support acceptance testing, manufacturing production and in-process testing, data processing and analysis.
