Senior Mechanical Engineer / Senior Designer / Orlando, FL

-This position will work with the Mechanical Engineering Lead to assist in the mechanical design, engineering documentation, trade studies, and drawing release for a selected program.
-Perform weights and tolerance analysis on system components.
-Work concepts and detail designs to fit Platform Requirements.
-Designer will work the design layout, and follow-up working with mechanical analyst to ensure the design meets all requirements.
-Experience in metal machining, castings, and forgings are preferred.
-Additionally, the designer will work with the supplier during the design and manufacturing process to mitigate any production issues.
-Work closely with Mechanical Engineering to support all program objectives.
-Travel may be required on an as needed basis.

West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Basic Qualifications
-Candidates must be a US Citizen and have an Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance with a closed investigation (or re-investigation) within 6 years.

-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an engineering focused discipline.
-Minimum of 5 years professional / hands-on experience creating system level CAD models and using them to create drawings.
-Professional experience with either Pro-E CREO or CATIA V.5.
-Good knowledge of GD&T is required.
-Experience with all aspects of mechanical design, including layout and design documentation.
-Good knowledge of all aspects of Mechanical engineering is essential.

Desired skills
-BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent related education and experience.
-Experience in machined metals design as well as metal castings and forgings are preferred.
-Previous LMC experience is a plus.
