Senior Manufacturing Engineer / CNC / GD&T / Orlando, FL

Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to support the Machining Operations Center (MOC) within the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) facility located in Orlando, FL. MOC produces ultra-precision machined components that are the foundation of infrared and electro-optical targeting systems used primarily for defense applications. The components supplied by this center support sales in excess of $1B annually.

Primary Responsibilities:
•Mfg. Engineering Lead responsible for the overall manufacturing effectiveness of assigned projects/programs.
•Lead teams of NC Programmers, Tool Designers, Industrial Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Production representatives to determine the most appropriate equipment (CNC mills, lathes, etc.), methods, special processes, and fixturing required to manufacture defect free ultra-precision machined components on-schedule, while delivering high value to our stakeholders.

•Create detailed work instructions, mfg. sketches, and other shop floor documentation to support the aforementioned.
•Provide shopfloor support as necessary to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
•Perform Root Cause analysis and ensure implementation of effective Corrective Action to address quality related issues.
•Monitor and report on quality, schedule, and cost performance of assigned projects/programs.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
•Willingness to learn and receive training and, if required, train others.
Basic Qualifications:
•Thorough understanding of machining (CNC lathes, CNC mills, etc.) capabilities, methods, cutting tools, and fixtures used in the manufacture of components and assemblies made from aluminum alloys, stainless steels, titanium and other common aerospace alloys.
•Advanced drawing/blue-print and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills.
•Proficient utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) - PTC Creo or equivalent.
•Broad knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges, and equipment.
•General understanding of typical Mil-Spec special processes (heat treatment, chem-film, anodize, passivation, organic coatings, etc.).
•Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
•Effective project management and leadership.
•Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years min. experience.
Desired Skills:
•PTC Creo CAD/CAM
•Windchill PLM
•General knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
•Green Belt certification
•Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, and common military specifications.
