Senior Engineer - Trajectory Analysis / Grand Prarie, TX
Lockheed Martin is seeking an engineer with trajectory analysis / flight mechanics background who is coachable and willing to learn. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
a. Run/update 3-DOF and 6-DOF simulations
b. Trajectory Shaping
c. Development of range safety footprints
d. Maintaining/managing simulation input files
e. Conducting preflight/postflight simulations
f. Develop/maintain Monte Carlo error sources
g. Provide trajectory data in support of trades conducted by other disciplines
h. Support checkout/debugging of 6-DOF simulation
Aerospace Engineering degree or equivalent.
Experience with MATLAB/SimuLink. Familiarity with scripting and/or programming development. Familiarity with flight performance prediction methods.
Understanding of standard coordinate systems used in flight vehicle performance analysis. Understanding of 3DOF and 6DOF flight simulations. Experience with guided missile trajectory analysis. Experience with solid rocket motor performance and knowledge of solid rocket design principles.
Candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with creating presentation-ready plots of performance data sets and communicating trade study results to other engineers and management. Excellent communications skills are required.
The ability to work in a fast-paced work environment is essential to success.
Candidates must possess a Secret or higher security clearance to be considered for this position.
Experience running missile simulations is a plus.
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop simulations is a plus.
Knowledge of a high level programming language such as FORTRAN or C++ is desirable.
Secret clearance with investigation performed in the past 5 years is desired.
