QA Engineer Senior - NDT

Ensure parts and materials manufactured / modified are compliant to drawing / specification requirements where failure would be catastrophic in effect: injury to personnel, loss of major equipment or weapon systems or weapon stores.

Perform Class 1 NDT requirements, as a minimum, inspection by two of the nondestructive testing methods specified in AIA NAS-410, NAS Certification and Qualification of Nondestructive Test Personnel, or SNT-TC-1A, Personnel Qualification and Certification in Nondestructive Testing.

Validation of welds conducted by Welders IAW Section 5 of AWS D17.1 / D17.1M, Specification for Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications; AWS D9.1M / D9.1, Sheet Metal Welding Code, or the specified weld code in work documents, unless otherwise directed by engineering documents.

Basic Qualifications
Travel to customer locations, possibly ( 30 )% +. Travel can range from one week to thirty days at a time.

NAS 410 Level II NDT certification in Magnetic Particle, Electromagnetic, Ultra Sonic, liquid penetrant, Radiographic Inspection. Intimate knowledge of NDT equipment and technical background in NDT methods and procedures. Extensive experience in laboratory and process support testing.

Desired skills
Candidate must have the ability to obtain level II / III certifications in the five basic testing methods in Non-destructive testing (Liquid Dye Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic and Radiography (digital)).

Certifications can be through AIA NAS-410 per SNT-TC-1A or (ASNT) American Society for Non-destructive Testing.

Current level II Certifications in the testing methods in Non-destructive testing, Liquid Dye Penetrant and Eddy Current Testing.

Certifications can be through AIA NAS-410 per SNT-TC-1A or (ASNT) American Society for Non-destructive Testing.

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

Ability to interpret engineering drawings with above average oral and written communication skills.

Experience in welding & on aircraft inspections.
