QA Engineer / Production Manufacturing / Troy , AL

This position provides quality engineering support in a manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring quality is built into the product by developing, modifying, applying and maintaining work instructions, evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished product. This role collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. Certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies desired. The shift / schedule for this position has not yet been determined. A willingness and ability to work first shift, night shift, or the weekend schedule is required.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/combined education.

Quality engineering support in a manufacturing environment.

Must be proficient in MS Office applications.

Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Must be willing and able to work first shift, night shift (approx. hours 4:00 pm to 2:30 am), and/or weekend schedule (approx. hours 4:00 am to 6 pm Fri - Sun)..

Desired skills
Bachelor's degree in a technical/quasi technical curriculum.

Lean Six Sigma/Green Belt or higher certification.

SAP experience a plus.

2 years of quality manufacturing experience.

Interim Secret or Final Secret clearance.
