Purchasing & Materials Analyst / Orlando, FL

This position within Engineering Material Acquisition and Control (EMAC) organizes, plans and directs purchasing/material acquisition activities for the engineers and staff of the Engineering and Technology organization. The EMAC analyst assures timely and economical procurement, control and distribution of material, parts, assemblies, equipment and services in support of programs, projects, products, services and off-site operations in compliance with internal and government regulations and contractual commitments. Tasks may also include development and control of policies, procedures, programs, and systems required to execute the acquisition activities. The position reports to the Manager of EMAC, under the Senior Manager of Mechanical Engineering Labs/EMAC, operating as a key section of the Mechanical Engineering Directorate within the Engineering and Technology organization of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando Florida.

The specific immediate assignment is support of the Central EMAC office, which supports all internal LM MFC programs. The work environment can be stressful, with multiple priorities and frequent interruptions. Overtime may be occasionally required to meet schedule demands. The EMAC assignment duties include:

- Generation of purchase requests in the LMP2P or SAP/Equivalent Purchasing Module system.
- Be the primary Global Supply Chain Liaison between Program and MFC’s commodity/ purchasing Center (SEMAC) to assist with expediting order placement.
- Own, status, manage and be accountable for hardware deliveries to support product and program
- Interface with suppliers and expedite purchase orders.
- Generate and maintain detailed material status and inventory spreadsheets.
- Attending weekly program meetings to status Senior Management on present hardware shortages, delays and recovery plan.

Basic Qualifications
-Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
-Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university OR equivalent experience with combined education.
-Familiarity with SAP / P2P (Procure to Pay) material ordering software.
-Demonstrated problem solving skills.
-Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and Power Point.
-Strong customer service skills.
-Must be able to interface with customers and vendors.
-Demonstrated effective, multi-tasking skills; can adapt to change and respond with minimal delay.
-Demonstrated detailed oriented accuracy supporting high volume data input for finance/status reporting.
-Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with ability to communicate critical issues to management.

Desired skills
-Experience working with or in the LM Southeastern Materials Acquisition Center (SEMAC).
-Experience with the procurement of specialized material, complex assemblies, and equipment within the Defense Industry.
