Program Engineering Lead, Orlando FL
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Engineer to lead all engineering activities for an advanced missile development effort. This position reports to the Programâ€™s Chief Engineer and will provide day-to-day interface with Program Managers, the current missile supplier, and the various Customer Program Offices. The position is responsible for all technical performance and risk reduction activities for the missile development effort including the production transition phases, design upgrades required for intended applications, and various vehicle integrations. The Lead Engineer must have the experience, drive, and demonstrated capability to lead a team of engineers of varying disciplines to provide technical excellence and mission success. Experience in missile design, development, and testing is required.
Knowledge in key technologies is also desired and includes: GPS systems, processor design, FPGA design, aerodynamics, GNC, data links, warheads, software design, and cyber security. Experience leading a team to achieve successful demonstration of program development milestones such as Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), system integration and test, and Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) is highly desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. The successful candidate will be required to communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership as well as externally to the customer. Experience coordinating or managing subcontractors and subcontract technical management is required. The position requires excellent leadership skills and demonstration of all the tenants of Full Spectrum Leadership in previous assignments. Significant travel is required, both OCONUS and CONUS.
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to lead all engineering activities in support of missile programs.
Experience required includes missile development program experience, customer interface, integration and test planning and execution, and management of major subcontracts.
