Procurement Engineer - Orlando

Successful candidate will be or have ability to become a mechanical subject matter expert of the MFC supply base for SEMAC procured mechanical hardware.

Analyzes and categorizes supplier manufacturing, inspection, and test capabilities through on-site supplier visits

Identifies risk within MFC supply base

Liaison between suppliers and program resolving technical and quality issues

Coordinates technical kickoff's and drawing reviews with suppliers to understand manufacturing methods and inspection techniques for compliance to LM drawings and specifications

Supports executive engagements with supply base

Assists buyers with identifying sources for solicitations

Conducts training of buyers to help understand types of mechanical commodities i.e. machining, castings, injection molded parts.

Participates in program and/or functional special projects

Basic Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering degree

Ability to be diplomatic with the supply base and internal customers
Knowledge of the machining, casting, non-metallic and other mechanical commodities

Design and/or Manufacturing experience with a mechanical background

Ability to travel - travel frequency will vary from light to heavy

Working experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ANSI Y14.5

High level knowledge of metrology techniques for inspection of mechanical hardware

High level experience with Computer Modeling and Model file types

Desired skills
Data base management
Financial business acumen such as cost evaluation experience
Black Belt/ Lean Six Sigma experience
