Numerical Control Programmer

Develops and writes programs for Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines using engineering specifications, drawings, GibbsCAM, Bysoft and TruTops or similar programming software.

Will perform tasks with the thorough understand of CNC programming processes and associated technologies of post processors, machine tool controls, cutting tool selection and work holding selection.

Will provide CNC programming support for the machining of metallic and non-metallic materials.

Basic Qualifications
Experience with machine theories/concepts, machine languages (G&M code programming).

Experience interpreting engineering drawings and blue prints.

Ability to read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) on engineering drawings.

Must understand the proper manner of securing irregular parts on machines by means of fixtures, jaws, straps, clamps or other special equipment.

Experience with choosing correct cutting tools, inserts, feeds and speeds for cutting of metallic and non-metallic materials.

Machine shop experience with setup and running of CNC lathes and machining centers.

Experience with CAD systems such as AutoCAD, PRO-E, etc.

Receives written and/or verbal instructions from supervisors and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Microsoft Office Suite: Power Point, Excel and Word with good computer skills.

Desired skills
CNC laser cutters and sheet metal punch press experience.

Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) experience.

Experience with programming or operating 4 and 5-axis milling and turning.

Excellent oral and written communication skills coupled with being a team player.
