Manufacturing Supervisor - Ocala, FL

Description:Ocala Operations is a multi-shift manufacturing facility that build circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies. The facility currently has over 1400 employees and provides products to six Missiles and Fire Control sites. Ocala specializes in both low volume high mix and high volume production that has a combination of automated processes as well as labor intensive manufacturing. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

Supervisor for manufacturing and test operators; responsible for driving/achieving quality, schedule and cost targets for multiple programs. Responsible for the daily activities of a specified group of production employees while ensuring that safety, cost, quality, and production standards are met. Must have good conflict resolution skills and the ability to build respectful working relationships. Motivational skills along with the ability to energize teams are considered a plus. Candidate should have some experience managing cost in a manufacturing organization. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the Manufacturing General Foreman. This position will be located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.

Basic Qualifications:
Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Prior supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment

Ability to develop, coordinate, lead and execute daily production plans

Ability to assign work to unionized hourly workforce and hold employees accountable for following processes, cost, quality and schedule

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve daily production issues, working simultaneously with supporting functional areas; Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain

Must have the ability to work 2nd shift

This position will be located at a facility that requires special access and therefore requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
Experience working in a manufacturing union environment

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to influence others and lead small teams

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma

Effective problem identification and solution skills

Bachelor's Degree

Must possess a working knowledge of managing workmanship, time and attendance, enforcement of work rules, employee training development & certifications, and audit readiness
