Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to support the Program Production Engineering team. The position will primarily support the resolution of manufacturing issues at supplier facilities which may include extensive travel. The types of products and issues can include but not limited to energetics, electro-mechanical assemblies and complex composite structures. Resolution of these manufacturing issues can include analysis of and improvements to tooling, work instructions, inspection methods, equipment, material handling, safety, design enhancements, manufacturing processes and any other potential variable that could influence the end product.
The position may also involve Design for Manufacture input, transition new or revised designs from development to production, proposal estimating, leading manufacturing process validations, driving cost reduction initiatives, identifying risks to production and implementing mitigation plans, earned value management and any other program related issue that may arise.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors or higher degree in technical discipline (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, etc.
Experience with Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes
Experience in Tool Design and/or Tool Fabrication
Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Knowledge of the SAP MRP production control system
Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration and developing enduring business relationships
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
Ability to interpret drawings, CAD models, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
Familiarity with European Conformity (CE) Certification
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Ability to travel domestic and/or international
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
