Manufacturing Engineer Senior / CNC Tool Programmer/ GD&T / Troy, AL

Lockheed Martin is seeking a CNC Programmer to support the Pike County Operations (PCO) located near Troy, Alabama. PCO is a state-of-the-art facility providing the safest and most advanced missile assembly and test
operation of its kind. This center support sales in excess of $1B annually.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Creating programs and routines for 5 axis numerically controlled machines using engineering drawings and specifications to define configuration of parts, the type and sequence of machine operations, and the proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, feeds, control system limitations and different types of cutters for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining to meet the engineering requirements. Tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.

The Locale: Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters. Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University. Where can you get to from Troy? Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA.

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor degree in Engineering and at least two years of CNC Programming experience or ten years professional experience in CNC Programming.
•Process knowledge of activities such as, machining, inspection, materials handling and assembly of components into end item products.
•Ability to read drawings and specifications.
•Understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
•Experience utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) - PTC CREO, CATIA V5 or equivalent.
•Experience and knowledge in Mechanical Engineering/Technology
•Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and must have at least an Interim Secret security clearance prior to start.

Desired skills
•Experience with the machining of metallic and non metallic materials.
•Experience with machining and drilling of Carbon Fiber Composite materials bonded to metallic structures.
•Machine calibration knowledge & experience.
•Windchill PLM
•Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
•Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
•Experience working on projects with teams as a leader and participant
•Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, and common military specifications
