The position is currently located in Cambridge, MA with the expectation to transition to Andover, MA full time within the next 12 to 18 months. This position will support the Chemistry Coordination Flow Battery (CCFB) which is a development program transitioning to Production. Engineering is located in Cambridge, MA along with a small engineering / support group team is located in Dallas, TX. The production site is located in Andover, MA and supplier locations are domestic and International at this time.

This particular Operations Engineering role is a split between a Manufacturing Engineering role and a Materials Planning role. As we see it we are hoping to find a Manufacturing Engineering professional who also has experience or an interest in Materials Planning. We might also consider the reverse combination as well on a case by case basis.

For the Manufacturing Engineering Portion of this role the candidate will support the transition of the development production work to a new LM facility from engineering labs as well as supporting supplier development. These tasks include supporting the identification of all appropriate tooling, test equipment, and capital needed to manufacture product at rate. Support plans to retrofit/modify the facility by working with outside suppliers and LM contractors. Evaluate and decide appropriate manufacturing plans/approaches. Work with suppliers to develop robotic/automation for fabrication of the Battery Stack. Work from an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to ensure that the new facility can support the production needs.

For the materials planning portion of this role our ideal candidate would need to have a decent understanding of MRP systems and have the job knowledge to be able to create material master plans, explode a bill of materials (BOM) to order parts, create line of business (LOB) reports, etc. The materials planner will coordinate with and collaborate with our global supply chain (GSC) personnel for expediting and tracking hardware.

This role may require travel to production sites and suppliers as the transition from development to production matures. These trips are typically 2-5 days in duration but could require extended stays.
