Manufacturing Engineer

Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to support the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Program Production Engineering team. The position will involve capturing new business by preparing proposal estimates for labor, tooling, travel, capital etc. and then defending those estimates to Program Management and Government Customers. Communication is critical in this role as coordination between multiple facilities across the country is required as well as the ability to work several concurrent proposals to aggressive schedules all while keeping key stakeholders routinely informed. Other responsibilities can include establishing and maintaining a rigorous make or buy plan, performing and presenting trade studies to increase base, working with Tool Designers, Production Operations Managers and factory support staff to ensure tooling efforts are being prioritized and executed appropriately which includes developing the strategy and schedule behind the execution plan, and any other program related manufacturing or tooling issues that may arise.
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Process improvement experience
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
SAP application experience
Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations
Desired Skills:
SAP and MS Office
Current Active Secret Clearance
Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
Effective Communication Skills: Verbal, Listening, Technical Writing
Experience with development programs
Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on manufacturing related issues.
Ability to effectively present technical information to non technical people
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
