Lead Propulsion Engineer / Orlando, FL

-Seeking a strong candidate to join a dedicated Propulsion team as a Lead Propulsion Engineer working alongside our structural dynamics and thermal teams, to solve complex technical problems.
-Must be familiar with applicable analysis tools in the area(s) of CFD, thermal, and structural dynamics.

Duties include:
-Working with internal and external suppliers to maintain production deliveries in aggressive schedule environments.
Monitoring of materials for potential obsolescence issues, including follow up resolution, planning and execution thereof.
-Acting as a technical interface with supplier technical leads and LM MFC chief engineers.
-Must have a strong track record working in partnership with suppliers to successfully meet project goals.

This position requires:
-Working with programs Propulsion Engineers and other Engineering & Technology related disciplines in the development, testing, and analysis of new and/or modified systems.
-Participate in the internal technical reviews and present findings and recommendations to internal and external customers.
-Ability to make technical decisions that will impact internal and external suppliers.

Basic Qualifications
-Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
-Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience/combined education.
-Must have 14+ years of professional experience in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

-Minimum of 8 years professional experience in propulsion engineering, with experience in solid rocket motor and / or air breathing propulsion.
1. Subcontractor / supplier management experience
2. Propulsion test, analysis and qualification experience

-High Mach / Hypersonic propulsion system knowledge and experience
-Professional experience in mechanical engineering disciplines such as: structures, materials, and thermal analysis.
-Proven team leadership

-Air breathing propulsion system knowledge and experience.
-Obsolescence activities experience
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Project Management experience
-Ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Access clearances
