Lead Mechanical Engineer / Dynamics Engineer / Orlando, FL

Mechanical Engineer responsible for the conceptual and detail design and analysis of advanced hardware through the full product life cycle. Work collaboratively with individuals from complementary disciplines within the Engineering, Manufacturing and Sub-Contracts organizations. Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of new aerospace and related products. Work with little direction and develop advanced technical principles, techniques and concepts. Provide stress analysis support for product design. Specifically, must be proficient in stress analysis, finite element analysis, structural testing, structural test correlation. Must be knowledgeable in structural analysis, report writing, presentations preparation and oral delivery. Requires knowledge of related application software such as Nastran, Abaqus, NX, I-DEAS, FEMAP, Patran, HyperMesh, BetaCAE. Provide general program support toward achieving technical, schedule, and cost performance objectives for production and design engineering. Assist with production issues resolution and root cause analysis. Communicate technical status and issues to internal and external program and functional leadership. Occasional travel to provide on-site support at customer and suppliers locations.

The Locale: Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. This region is a great place to live and to raise a family. Central Florida offers lots of attractive residential housing options. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is
warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center.
Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Basic Qualifications
-Candidate must be a US Citizen and have a Department of Defense Secret Clearance with an active investigation within 5 years.
-Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
-Provide stress analysis support for product design.
-Specifically, must be proficient in stress analysis, finite element analysis, structural testing and structural test correlation.
-Requires knowledge of related application software such as Nastran, Abaqus, NX, I-DEAS, FEMAP, Patran, HyperMesh and BetaCAE.
-Significant experience with FEA modeling.
-Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods.
-Must be knowledgeable in structural analysis, report writing, presentations preparation and oral delivery.
-Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of new aerospace and related products.
-Work with little direction and develop advanced technical principles, techniques and concepts.
-Provide general program support toward achieving technical, schedule, and cost performance objectives for production and design engineering.
-Experience in hardware design and development.
-Skilled stress analyst.

Desired skills
-Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills.
-Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills for generating test plans, test reports, documentation, and potentially proposals are necessary.
-Mature computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
